Working with the NIU Community
Because of this project, our group had the honor of working with NIU's Counseling and Student Development Center. The CSDC works to support the academic, emotional, social, and cultural development of NIU students. They offer walk-in, individual, and group counseling along with assessments for eating disorders, substance abuse, and anger intervention issues. They also offer crisis services for emergency/crisis situations. Our group chose to work with this organization because we felt they would have the most knowledge about eating disorders, their presence in society, and how to raise awareness on the issue.
